Mission
The Pike County Economic Development Corporation is a public/private economic development organization in Pike County, Illinois. PCEDC’s mission is to support and expand business and employment by improving the quality of life, utilizing our human and natural resources, and by promoting communication and partnerships throughout Pike County.
The organization provides economic development support in the following areas:
- Business Retention & Expansion
- Business Attraction
- Small Business Development
- Community Development Planning
Vision
The goal of the Pike County Economic Development Corporation is to stimulate economic growth within the County. Increased economic growth would ease taxpayer burdens, create new employment opportunities, advance infrastructure improvements, and enhance the quality of life for Pike County residents. To implement this goal, it is the vision of the Corporation to:
- Create jobs within the County that provide above-average wages as well as entry level opportunities by attracting potential employers of a commercial and light industrial nature that will not have a detrimental effect on the environment of the County or the lifestyle of County residents;
- Retain existing jobs within the County by promoting and supporting the growth and stability of existing businesses;
- Help coordinate the efficient placement of commercial and light industrial sites and facilities within the County;
- Encourage the development and education of the area’s workforce.
