County Economic Development Corporation has access to a wide variety of
workforce development and training resources. Our organization works
with businesses within the county to address any workforce issues they
may be facing. This strengthens our local businesses as well as the
areas workforce.
Workforce Resources
Workforce Investment Board of
Western Illinois
The
Workforce Investment Board of Western Illinois is the primary advocate
for the identification, communication, and resolution of current and
emerging workforce development matters in Western Illinois.
John Wood Community College
John
Wood Community College offers Associate in Applied Science degrees and
certificates for individuals interested in specialized career/technical
training leading to immediate employment. AAS degrees and certificates
are offered in more than 40 career/technical programs.
The
JWCC Workforce Development
Center opened in 2009 to address the
critical need for a well-trained, well-educated, regional workforce. The
center consists of a 30,000 square foot, state-of- the-art training
center, situated on fourteen acres. Several “smart” classrooms, training
labs, and computer labs support activities within the WDC. On the
exterior grounds, a well-designed maneuvering range supports the
college’s Truck Driver Training program. Other programs housed at the
center include; Manufacturing Technology, Welding Technology, Electrical
Technology, Construction Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, and
several others currently under development. The facility is also
available to area businesses for customized and contract training
specific to their individual needs.
Vatterott College
In 1969,
Vatterott College began providing quality career training to students
seeking career skills for a better life. The institution provides
quality education in high-demand fields and continues to grow by
offering additional diploma and degree programs. Programs at Vatterott
include fields in Business, Medical, Technical, Trades and Court
Reporting. All programs are industry-relevant and designed to support
the Vatterott mission of providing career skills for a better life for
graduates. |
